"Ignatius of Loyola" – The Path of Discernment

This evocative portrait captures the wisdom and spiritual depth of Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuits and master of discernment. Cloaked in deep purples, he stands in contemplative stillness, his gaze turned inward as he listens for divine guidance. The open book in his hand, bearing the Jesuit emblem, symbolizes the sacred wisdom of the Spiritual Exercises—his timeless method for recognizing God’s voice in life’s choices. This painting was created on a 24"x18" birch wood panel. The texture you can notice is venetian plaster that was layered with alcohol ink, sanded and re-layered until the desired depth was achieved. In addition acrylic paint and other mixed media was used. The final layer of this piece consists of oil paint.

This painting is wired and ready to be hung.
