"John of the Cross" – The Dark Night of the Soul

This painting captures a dramatic interplay of light and shadow, symbolizing the saint’s journey through the "Dark Night of the Soul" toward enlightenment.

This painting on a 36"x 24" gallery wrapped canvas was started by applying several layers of acrylic washes at first to achieve the desired visual depth. The final rendering was done with oil paint.
