"Julian of Norwich"- A Vision of Hope and Serenity

Seated in quiet contemplation, Julian of Norwich gazes into the distance, embodying a profound sense of peace and spiritual wisdom. The delicate script behind her recalls her famous words: "All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well." Her flowing blue gown, melting into the canvas, symbolizes divine mystery and transcendence, while the watchful presence of the cat adds an element of grounded warmth. This artwork captures the essence of Julian’s revelations—hope, trust, and an enduring belief in divine love.

This painting was created on a 24"x18" birch wood panel. The texture you can notice is venetian plaster that was layered with alcohol ink, sanded and re-layered until the desired depth was achieved. In addition acrylic paint and other mixed media was used. The final layer of this piece consists of oil paint.
